Due to material and technological problems, fading color has always been a headache in the textile industry. We use the highest level of fixation for our fabric printing to ensure color fastness. However, the actual situation is that all colors may fade except white.
1. Any fabric, natural or synthetic, will fade with consistent sun exposure.
2. White or lighter background colors are recommended for outdoor display products. Lighter-color fabrics are reflective to light, while dark colors absorb light and heat which accelerates the breakdown of pigment and makes them more susceptible to fading.
3. The darker the color, the more obvious the fade. Navy blue, dark green, dark red, dark brown, and black will appear to fade faster because they are deeper into the color spectrum than white, tan, or other lighter colors.
4. In the ink color system, the fixing effect of blue-based colors is the worst, so blue artworks should be avoided as much as possible for long-term outdoor used products.
5. A loose textile is more likely to fade color than a dense textile. Textile with tight yarns is not easy to color fade.
